Stonespine Architects
A light card drafting, dungeon building game by Thunderworks Games in their long line of games in the Roll Player universe. I was hired through Brieger Creative to lead development on this project, taking it from an early prototype to a finalized game. Made $163,500 on Kickstarter.
My roles:
Project management: Led team of three developers. Communicated progress with the publisher, original designer, and graphic designers.
Game development: Refined rules, created new systems, adjusted mechanical and narrative elements on 150 cards. Balanced scoring mechanisms. Added core “dungeon path” mechanic, bringing the game closer to audience thematic expectations.
Content design: Created dozens of new scoring conditions to drive new strategies and lines of play.
Solo mode design: Led development of the game’s single-player mode.
Rules: Wrote and edited the rule book.
Testing: Led dozens of tests with varying audiences and meticulously recorded data. Created online Tabletop Simulator modules to facilitate online tests.
